If squeamish look away now!

Hi everybody, Hopefully you made the most of this last weekend (21 to 23 of May 2010) as
it was absolutely glorious!

We had a variety weekend of work but the highlight was the special FX Make-up
Workshop at Wade Deacon High School on Saturday 22 of May 2010.
The workshop was oriented to the 'Gifted & Talented' which embraces pupils that have excelled themselves during the year.

What can I say, other than that they were brilliant and they displayed great listening, learning, communicational and organisational skills and on top of that they created some excellent work in quite difficult conditions when it comes to make-up effects because the weather that morning was very hot!

Any way please check out the pictures on Flickr to see for yourselves some great work!

By the way we are on the mobile web to: http://m.magicalcircus.com

More holidays, more camps!!!

Mad Science South East is delighted to announce that our Easter holiday camps were a blast! We had an amazing time, so did all the junior scientists who joined us during this term break. We would like to thank all the parents for trusting us with their bright young ones, as well as for providing us with valuable feedback, which we have taken into consideration and are eagerly working with to make our next camps better, more fun, more exciting and a great value!!!

All our Mad Scientists are busy in the laboratory, preparing the next camps - over May term break as well as during summer. Please keep checking our website http://www.madscience.org/locations/southeast/ for updates on venues, dates and times.

Science is so much fun with Mad Science!

Maths Clown on Parade

ON PARADE!

Once a year 100 (ish) clowns get together in Bognor Regis and clown around for four days. On Sunday, we have a parade and Bubblz made a mathematical tetrahedral balloon hat to go with her brand new maths costume (by Heidi). Made from four half scale tetrahedra, the hat has an octahedron at the centre of it (look carefully at the red shape).

Bubblz facilitates a similar tetrahedron during her maths workshops. It's a little bit larger - scaled up by a factor of 3, the workshop tetrahedron is nearly 2 metres tall!

A Very Special Circus

A circus workshops the full way in Germany, a very interesting video of how circus is integrated into the educational curriculum and how taking part in the circus project contributes to the children's development.

The circus on the video is a German travelling circus called 'Zirkus El Dorado'
.

Please look at the video on 'Teachers TV':

"Roll up, Roll up" Magical Circus New Year, new schools!

Hello everybody,

We just started the year (after a lovely holiday) with two new schools to welcome to our Magical Circus:

Willaston C. E. Primary in Willaston were we had a Circus Show for the whole school (204 pupils KS1 to KS2 Year 1 to Year 6) and then a circus workshop in the afternoon for Year 2 pupils, who achieved a great deal in the six skills that they learnt. It was a great day!

Neston Primary School were they went all the way for their circus day. We must say that we felt under-dressed for the occasion. We had two circus workshops for KS1 Year 2 pupils and there was some great talent there!

Also we had our yearly January "Gig" at Belgrave Primary School in Chester were we had two School Discos; one as Kuki and Krums the clowns for Year 1 and 2 and then another as Melanie and Angelo for Years 3 and 4. The X Factor is definitely influencing this new generation! It was difficult to pick a winner in the dancing competitions as they were all so good!!!

Christmas is on the road at Magical Circus!

Hi everybody, we had our first Christmas Mini Circus Show yesterday, 1st of December (2009) at Guardian Angels R.C. Primary School in Bury. We had a great time and the children had a fantastic time! We only had 60 children (the little ones from nursery and reception) because the older ones went to see the Pantomime. It was really reassuring when the Head Master came out at the end of our show too book us for next years Christmas party...this time for the entire school. We are already looking forward to it, but before that we are going to enjoy this years Christmas run!

Saturday 14 November 2009

Hello everyone!

Hello everybody, we are Melanie and Angelo and like everyone else we are looking forward to the season of joy!

We have been entertaining since the year 2000 in the UK but before that we both worked in Circus in Europe, South East Asia and South America with our last contract being Circus Tihany with which we toured all over Brazil before deciding to start our own entertainment and workshops business here in the UK.

Melanie is half English and half German (excellent combination of efficiency and hard work; in my opinion) and I Angelo am full bodied Chilean like the Merlot but not as relaxing.

Our services involve entertainment, circus skills workshops and theatrical and media make-up workshops (gory effects) and we do have loads of fun!

We are preparing the final touches of the new 'Mini Circus Show Christmas Special ' and we are excited for this years run. If you want to know more about what we do please visit us here at our corporate website or here at MagicalCircus.co.uk our main site.

Finally we are very happy to join Shows4schools Blog and hopefully you will find it useful and informative. Don't forget you can follow this Blog by clicking the 'Follow' link above on the left hand corner.

Regards!

Angelo (and Melanie)

This was a superb Show by the 'Schools Out Club' at Mill Dam J. & I. School in Pontefract West Yorkshire. We spent four full great days with them and in the final day they put a superb performance for their parents, relatives and friends.

This is us Melanie and Angelo and we are looking forward to meet you soon!
